You are picking up 72w which requires a linear and you are trying for 82w which requires circular lnb.

C/P

There are two types of Ku band LNBFs

- circular lnb's which have a low frequency of 11250 mhz,

and linear lnb's, which have three different frequency ranges, universal - 9750mhz-10600mhz (European model), universal - 9750mhz- 10750 MHz,
(U.S. model's use both and are wide band LNBFs), and standard - 10750mhz.

Here is a list of satellites and the correct lnb's to use with them:

61.5W Echo 3 - use standard circular lnb - 11250 MHz

63W Estrela - use linear lnb, either universal or standard linear- 10750 MHz

71.8W Nahuel 1- linear lnb, either universal or standard linear- 10750 MHz

77W Echo 4 - circular standard lnb - 11250 MHz

79W Amc 5 - linear lnb, either universal or standard - 10750 MHz

82W Nimiq 2 - circular standard lnb= 11250 MHz

87W Amc 3 - --- linear lnb, either universal or standard - 10750 MHz

91W Galaxy 11- linear lnb, either universal or standard- 10750 MHz

91W Nimiq1&3- circular lnb standard= 11250 MHz

93W Intelsat 6- linear lnb, either universal or standard-10750 MHz

95W Galaxy 3c- linear lnb, either universal or standard - 10750 MHz

97W Intelsat5- linear lnb, either universal or standard - 10750 MHz

101W Amc 4 - linear lnb, either universal or standard- 10750 MHz

103W Amc 1- linear lnb, either universal or standard- 10750 MHz

105W Amc 15- linear lnb, either universal or standard- 10750 MHz

107.3W Anik - linear lnb, either universal or standard- 10750 MHz

110W Echo 8 & 10,X - circular lnb standard - 11250 MHz

111W Anik f2 - linear lnb, either universal or standard - 10750 MHz

116.8W Satmex5 - linear lnb, either universal or standard - 10750 MHz

118.7W Anik F3 - circular lnb standard - 10750 MHz

119W Echo 7 - circular lnb standard - 11250 MHz

121W Echo 9 - linear lnb, either universal or standard - 10750 MHz

123W Galaxy 10r - linear lnb, either universal or standard - 10750 MHz

127W Galaxy 13 - linear lnb, either universal or standard - 10750 MHz

129W Echo 5 - circular lnb standard - 11250 MHz

148W Echo1 & 2 - circular lnb standard - 11250 MHz

masti2003: I am sure you meant Nimiq 1 at 91w and not 92w.

At 82W, there used to be Nimiq 2, but that has moved and Nimiq 4 has taken its place with most of the channels spot-beamed. Therefore, you can get 82W about 200KM south of the border but no further south.
King just posted somewhere that you can get 82W in NJ. I have heard of signals up to North Carolina, but no further south.
I hope this helps.

Kumar, are you planning to get ind and nz on FTA ? You can't unless.. first of all you have to have the signal. I think it still a big question for you. Am i right? And fta box won't get you CBN cuz all bev channels are on n3 unless you own a Nfusion.
Anyway, kumar in case you won't be able get cbn try to get that online. www.ustream.tv

Kumar, Alright if you know for sure, can hit nimiq4.
Get proximate elevation from the website (dispointer.com) and use your best guess work. I'm sure you will get it.

Posted on Monday, March 09, 2009 - 10:22 pm:

I live 15 miles outside NJ border
I get signal level of 70% to 75% with a 20" dish on either 82/91

If yo have a relative or a friend live in Canada I guess yo can share the bill and get B#V or S#C

B#V has better movie channels
But yo won't get local channels in NJ

3 to 5 years from now IPTV will let yo go anywhere with an IPTV set top box to take anywhere using internet instead of satellites
At least that's what I sense from satellite trade shows

Kumar, Plymouth is right. I used to get 82 but since nimiq4 came into the pic. I don't even see any life of it.
Kumar when I used to get 82 I wasn't even getting signal from all the tps. But I was lucky to get CBN, B4U

Anyways I did watch indo-nz on the web. But rain spoiled every thing. Rain wasn't an unexpected thing to happen In NZ.
