Hi, my dad just got a new 40" Sony HDTV, and we got HD service with a DVR from Cablevision. We also got a sony upsampling DVD. We are using HDMI cables to connect the components to the TV. Last night, I noticed that we were no longer getting audio from the cable box. I tried the DVD player, and the TV audio worked fine. First I swapped the HDMI input to a different port. This did nothing. Then, thinking it was a cable issue, I tried swapping the HDMI cables. Nothing changed. Finally I tried connecting the component audio cables from the cable box to our audio reciever, and I got audio from the speaker system. Still nothing from the TV. This leads me to believe that there is a problem with the HDMI audio out from the Scientific Atlanta cable box. My dad is going to bring it in to cablevision and see if they will swap it with a new one. Does this make sense ? Has anyone else had this problem ? Please let me know.

Yes, it makes sense to swap boxes. That should resolve the issue.
