Hello,
i have a viewsat ultra. i did a factory default and loaded factory bin. switched off from back and after 10 secs switched on back. configured antenna setup for 110. i did not load the latest bin. did a channelscan and found lots of echo000 channels. realized did not load the latest bin. went to menu-> channel org. deleted all channels. loaded latest one 090225U-2 . it automatically restarted after loading but this time it did not boot up properly . i dont see the four zeros 0000 which come up first. rather i m seeing only EE (two EE followed by half E). nothing comes up. Is the unit dead due to latest fix. this is genuine unit running last 2 years. also i did steps correctly i never switched of anything while loading the bin. it progressed well ..like..reading the file..showed progress bar from initial and completely fully and restarted itself but got only EE.

how would i bring the unit up normal

i tried unhooking power and switch on back . no luck

thanks

Ftaman,

First I would wait for a a new bin.

Then you will need to load the factory bin and satellite list.

Factory default.

load new bin (when it comes out)

You should be ok.

Try it

In your package box with receiver is furnish a cable RS-232 you must download factory bin with the cable from your computer .
Go to: http://viewsatusa.com/support.htm
download this 3 files:
Ultra Lite Loader - Firmware Updater (also works with Ultra)you install this one on computer
VS2000 ULTRA Factory Bin File - V134
and download it with the loader in your receiver.
Download the satellite Info:

http://www.viewsatusa.com/U009_plat-xtreme.zip

close rear switch on receiver
open program take file v134
clic D to download in receiver and a second after
switch on
the transfert take 5-10 mins
you must see 0000
Load the satellite info and the the latest bin with USB

After all this download do a factory default and do setting in antenna setup and autoscan on each satellite.

Warning
After each scan return in antenna setup and check the setting because it come back on default setting and you can lose your LNB and switch.
This is new since few bins.

on unrelated note..have you guys tried with ATSC tuner(built in latest lcd tv) or standalone tuner..connecting a outdoor 4 bay bowtie antenna with pre-amp ..you can get all major US channels from buffaloa in HD and also all canadian channels in HD..

good to have if boxes are down due to hit..

Since Bev is down with web help , I have made a antenna for get my local channels without paid for service which i installed on my 10' mat on my roof, what is my surprise , I can get those channels whit a very clean quality without ghost and interference, this antenna cost me nothing and is made with a 3"x0.750x28" HMW Nylon, aluminium 3/8" rod, 5' #14 copper wire and a simply transformer 300 ohms to 75 ohms then a signal amplifier on a splitter which I provide on 4 TVs in the house.
Why paid when it's free, all that cost me less 20$ for wire and connector and few hours.
Dn, Bev, DTV provide channels that we can get for nothing and do profit on it.

If you buy a 4' dish a Invavom QPH-031 and a cheap receiver, the cost is +- 400$ and you recover your money inside 2 years easily.

There is the fact.
