I have an SV-2000 VCR (made by Philips), model SVB-106, and it won't play tapes recorded in SLP.
- I see the picture, it appears to run slightly fast, and it's distorted by diagonal lines. - There is no sound. - If I press the Menu button while playing, the blue menu screen comes up, and then I can hear the sound in the background. If I cancel the menu, the sound vanishes and the scrambled video comes back. - SP and LP tapes play fine. Only the slowest speed won't work, SLP. - I have tried tapes recorded by at least four different VCRs over the last 10 years or more, and they all do the same thing. - It appears to record correctly in SLP, but when I play the tape back, it comes up scrambled just like the older tapes.
