Abby: This is what happens when people play politics. 8-10 months ago Saif made a very credible case for LZMA, based on memory saving. The respected and established person, Chancy supported it and went for LZMA wholeheartedly. But JVVH team had to keep to their method, partly because they were not as good at learning new things. Then UKR had to come out with his software etc - mostly all copying. Now they are having to learn how to do LZMA afresh. it will take a couple more versions, and perhaps Saif coming back to the picture if N3 does not make the exercise redundant.
