Getting your PC to identify your parallel port

trying to jtag an ariza right now but my computer is not recognizing the parallel port, how do i get it to recognize it? Thanks

For the jtag cable you need the old style 25 Pin Parallel port cable. The newer computers may not have that outlet.

i ordered it from ebay, i just need a parallel port driver for general data transfers now.. not for printing. Anywhere i can find that? thanks

You should not need a driver. Simply go into your computer's BIOS and enable the parallel port once you have the part installed.

Understand that entering the BIOS is system dependent and has nothing to do
with the operating system on your computer.

When you boot the system, the first screen usually contains information such
as "In order to enter setup" and gives a key to depress, do so, that will
get you into the BIOS.

Before turning off hyperthreading, you might want to check with your
computer manufacturer as to whether or not this is recommended and other
issues it might cause.
