Hello,
I have a Pansat 2500 that I converted to "puffy" that works fine. I use the Straight RS232 cable to download the bins when ever they change.

A few weeks ago someone gave me their genuine pansat 2700A. I've been trying to get it to work with no luck. I've learned that you need the GT Rom Loader 27.02 to load the bins. I got it. When I try to download the 2700A bins the loader stays at 0%.

I read on another website that you need a null (serial) modem cable for the genuine 2700A not the straight one. I've been using the straight RS232 that I use on my converted "puffy".

Is this true?
I don't want to waste money on another cable until I'm 100% sure that's the problem.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Yes , null cable needed for 2700

c/p

You can use a straight DB9 cable to program receivers requiring a Null cable, by purchasing an inexpensive Null adapter to attach to one end of the straight DB9 cable. This allows one cable to be used for any receiver.

The Null adaptor mentioned by Chumley should be M/F DB9

Thanks

I'll just goto the flea market and pick up a null rs232 cable from the satelite guy there.
