im very new at this and willing tro try almost anything. today the power went out in my apartment and when it came back on both my computer monitor (lcd) and my tv (dlp) were dead. i still have sound but no menu or picture. i can even still change channels. i have pulled out what apears to be the power supply, it has 4 layers of circut boards and i cant find any blown fuses or burn marks anywhere.

i have no reason to think its a bad bulb. it was working fine even on HD stuff. any help would be greatly apreciated i can post pictures if someone is willing to help me trouble shoot this thing.

If the set was 'on' when the power went off, chances are that it is, indeed, the lamp. They run hot, and if you haven't noticed, the fan runs for a while after you turn it off.....cooling is important.

The solution is a properly rated UPS / surge protector / power conditioner.
