OK, so I have a converted Pensat 2700 that I ran on the b75 bins up to this point. Since that's a dying bin, I thought I'd finally step up to puff. Well I tried to puff it, followed the directions and tried to load the latest puff bin and all I get is a constant puff..puff..puff display. It never ends! I can't get anything else to download on it. Is my receiver toast? Any help will be greatly appreciated...thanks guys!

No it's not toast. Rolling PUFF just means it's waiting for a PUFF Bin. Just load the latest, Fwank7_jvvh_203_puff (V-2), and you should be fine.

The 201 series of PUFF BINs are new types of BINs called Full EMU. The latest is 203v2. Without going into technical details, I would urge everybody to a system rest after loading the latest 203v2 BIN, and do not load the saved channel master files if saved under the older PUFF 299.
Then do a deletion of all channels and start with user setup and antennas setup and scan.
Once you have everything satisfactory under the new system you may save the channel list under channels master and use it later.

Channel master is obtained from
http://www.sharpc.com
It is a free software, and you install it like any other software in your computer
When running it you have to remember to use the same cable as the one used for downloading BINs, but in the software when asked, specify that you have a Pansat 2700 (not 2500 or FLU).
The software comes with extensive instructions.
Presaved channels lists under PUFF_299 will not work and you have to svae under new software 203V2 for them to be usable in future.
You can do extensive editing of channels - names, parental control, favourites, etc.
Merry Chritmas.

Fwank7_jvvh_203_puff (V-2) doesn't work
anyways. I'm scared to do Factory Reset, as I think all PUFF, b-75 and other software on
the box would be Deleted and I have to
install everything from scratch. I did scan, blind scan, whatever.. Still no picture.

This:
=========================
1. Note down your user and antenna settings.
2. Delete all chanels and doa system reset.
3. Power down.
4. Power up and do user settings.
5. Do Antenna setup for one Sat, and do a Blind scan.
6. At the end of scan you should see the picture.
7. Do other antenna set ups and scan.
8. Do your channel editing and parental controls and favourites.
9. Save this under channel master.
10. Watch TV.
======================================
Just plain Nuts. Delete and clean whole receiver every time before installing new bin? Should I also knock it with the sledge hammer? I'll wait for more meanful
Bin, - screw that.

Since version 201, the software has changed a lot. It is called full EMU. These are the growing pains of a new software. When the original conversion BINs came out, there was a lapse of about 4-6 versions spanning 2 months before everything settled down.
I expect that everything will settle down to a proper rythm by version 205 or 206.
In the meantime these are the instructions as understood by me from the details given by the author Fwank7 and other comments from various testers.
Please note that I am NOT the author of these BINs

YOU CANNOT USE ANY CHANNEL LIST CREATED UNDER PUFF_299 AND PRIOR.
The use of channel master is for the future. You do a manual scan under PUFF_203v2 and then later you can use it for future full emu PUFF BINs.

Tamara: Do not go for factory file or for b60 boot. Try Juan's suggestion first, but after doing a deletion of all channels and a reset.

Keep the UP or DOWN button on your remote pressed when scanning and the scan should not hang plus it should scan faster.

Doing a Blind scan:
Blind scan consists of two phases.
Phase 1: It goes and gets all the TPs that your Dish is aiming at.
Phase 2: Each TP that the receiver got from above Phase 1, plus all the TPs that were already in the TP list are scanned one at a time for chanels.

If you have problems, they usually occur at Phase 2, mostly in the form of hanging up or freexing and scanning over and over again.
If that is the case, you can scan individual TPs from the list that you got in Phase 1 and you will be able to identify the culprit TP, and skip over it.

gupu: It seems you have one dish and LNB pointing to 82W which is for Nimiq2 - a Bell sat. YOU CAN'T GET BELL - NOBODY CAN WITH A 2700 RECEIVER.

You will need to turn the Dish to point to Echo 3 at 61.5W to get Indian channels or to 110 or 119 degrees W to get DN.
To get the exact alignment and elevation, use
www.dishpointer.com
Or get an installer to change the Dish pointing.

If you used to get Echo 3 before, try the following settings and a Blind Scan.

LNB TYPE: STANDARD
LNB LOCAL FREQUENCY: 11250
22KHZ: OFF
DISEQC OFF
LEGACY SW: NONE
SATELLITE SCANE: ALL
TP: 1 12326 H 20.00
