Hi All,
I know this is the complete wrong catagory to post a new thread in reference
to New hdtv converter box, hookup.

Why my other half, just had to get today, and stb is working just fine I have no idea.?
I'm sure you all understand that one......lol....

I did search here, and came up with 800 pages after 45 minutes of reading stuff and old data.
I had to post here my favorite place. Anyone?

Can you hook up the converter to your Stb?
Or does one have to have a complete seperate switch from antenna to STB?
Or is it best to Ignore my STB, and hook-up as instructed?
I'm Lost..on this one,
Can anyone send or post me any Info links?
Have any of you been there yet?

Wow ! Almost a whole 10 questions in one post, Need a re direct, doob or drink.
I will google and read again.... just thought you guys might know how with the stb?
Or converter box has nothing to do with my stb no such thing and completly seperate?

Thanks a Bunch
Kimberly

If you are talking about a over the air (local broadcast digital signal) receiver/converter, connect it to a different input on your tv.

Thanks Paul, I still say most things are best left to ones own imagination.
lol
I am posting back since dish is out, finally set up the new hdconverter with regular old tv that is not a hd tv.

Picked up all kinds of channels and cystal clear.
I had no idea it would be as nice as it is.
It does not have anything to do with stb fta, as I first thought.
Thinking I could use my lnbs for pick-up.

Must have Regular antenna, converter box scan is really neat.
(smart antennas $$ are available but not a must, picked up several channels more than locals, I will have write down exactally how many)
2- $40.00 free coupons from www.dtv2009.gov received in 10 days
Took to Walmart boxes were 47.00+-=7.00 each.
A few sites you can break even ordering online with gov coupon.
It really is pretty cool crisp clear except no ppv for today.

One does have to get a switch or unhook Sat cable when using one or the other.
Of course not as good as are hobby, but
works great and better than almost -0-.
