Still a newbie on all this, to add 119 to 110 for dn, can any type of lnb be used? If not, what type should be used?

Do HD channels require special lnb?

Thanks.

same question here, I think I can give you some insight since i've been asking around on the forums as well

you need a triple lnb dish for 110-119-129 and I just bought one from this guy

61.5W Echo 3 - use standard circular lnb - 11250 MHz
63W Estrela - use linear lnb, either universal or standard linear- 10750 MHz
71.8W Nahuel 1- linear lnb, either universal or standard linear- 10750 MHz
77W Echo 4 - circular standard lnb - 11250 MHz
79W Amc 5 - linear lnb, either universal or standard - 10750 MHz
82W Nimiq 2 - circular standard lnb= 11250 MHz

BTW...HD does NOT require a special LNB just a circular 11250 freq LNB, aimed th the 129W sat is best..

LNB's

http://transatelectronics.com/store/lnbs_CA66?zenid=8ea9a8afd185e5d58fbaf8a45bbd 47ec

Various types of KU-band LNB's for your dish
Choosing the right one:
DBS / DSS / Circular LNB's are those used mainly for Echostar and Nimiq satellites (61.5, 82, 91, 110, 119, 129, 148), as well as DIRECTV. They have a LO frequency of 11.250 GHz

118 / 118.7 LNB's are used mainly for ANIK F3 or 118.7. They have a LO frequency of 10.750 GHz. Note: these LNB's are circular polarization and can also be used for all DBS/DSS type satellites including 61.5, 82, 91, 110, 119, 129, 148, etc

FTA / FSS / Linear standard LNB's are used for 121, AMC4, Galaxy25 (T5), Galaxy10R, Galaxy3, etc. They have a LO frequency of 10.750 GHz. These LNB's can also be used for StarChoice. Note: these satellites require a 30" or larger dish

Universal LNB's are a dual-band LNB often used for satellites in Europe. In North America, the only satellite that requires a universal LNB is Intelsat 9 (PAS9) at 58°W. Universals are a kind of linear LNB and can be used for any linear satellite. They have LO and HI frequencies of 9.750 and 10.600 GHz

Invacom Quad Polar LNB's are a special type used mainly for motorized dishes. They are an all-in-one LNB, giving you both circular (DSS) and linear (FTA) polarizations at the same time. Note: the Invacom cannot receive the 118 satellite.

Your right FTA Tester..All my info is C/P so for future reference if not noted, assume that it is not my info....Like it makes a big difference!! By the way I do not own or operate an FTA box....I am a sub.

zulu does many good things here for ppl who really want and ask for help....everything we all post is NOT original...that would be unnecessary and re-inventing the wheel all the time..most info posted here is generally all good and still useable, even if old.. (unless its from nalin , plymouth or another one of their alaises who intentionally post BOGUS info to kill FTA and this hobby)

Fta tester ..you post some good info too..so lets all be on the same side...if ya know something is outdated or wrong, then lets just correct it the next time, if it really matters/of importance and relative to the thread subject..

We have enough troubles here with nalin, plymouth, DN moles, rats, do nothing mods, wannabees, etc , so we don't need/wish to have good people criticizing each other...smoke a fattie , guzzle a brew, and don't sweat the small stuff...we need too help each other and expose those that INTENTIONALLY try and kill our help and FTA..
