Hi, Im very interested in the Pansat 9200HD receiver, but I wonder if my current setup would work..

Do I need a speacial dish, special LNB's in order to receive HD programming? I currently have a pansat 2500 which works great, but if I buy the HD Pansat, what else do I need to change?

Thanks everyone

You would need the 8psk board and aim to 110w , 61.5 or 129w

no special dish or lnb.

thanks for your reply Chumley

I'm currently aimed for 110, 119 and globecast (97.0 W)

you're saying I need this 8psk board regardless, right?

since i dont even know what this thing is, can you provide me with some link on where to get it? is 8psk enough to search it online, or is it short for something else? (like a full name or something)

im seeing the picture of the item on ebay and it brings up another question..how the hell do you install this thing? is it installed on the dish, or in the house by the receiver?

It goes inside the receiver and is easy to install.

if it's inside the receiver, i would guess a lot of pansats are sold with the piece already inside.... what good would be the receiver without this 8 psk?

thanks again Chumley

Its an add on item , though some do sell with it installed.

with out 8psk the box could work with bev hd

bev hd - qpsk
dn hd - 8psk

someone is telling me that DN sucks for HD channels, that I should point my dish towards BEV. I know nothing above BEV, since i've been watching DN for over 5 years now...

is that accurate info or should I stick to DN?

how many satellites can you have? i'm currently set for 110, 119 on one dish and 97.0 on another dish...If I can continue having 110/119 + a couple more for HD (im hearing BEV has the most channels) then that would be the ideal situation...Can I get DN and BEV on the same dish?

B3V is not available - Nagra3 -

DN is going the same route and may not be available in the near future.

knowing new encryption is around the corner you might not get your moneys worth out of the 9200 - who knows?

Since bev is N3 you would only have to add another dish to aim at 61.5 or 129w to get more hd channels

I have read that the nFusion box gets most Beverly channels except the ppv. not sure about the adult channels. If this is true then the nFusion box should be a very hot item when d*n* goes to the new system.
