Technical information

The system requires an elliptical antenna of at least 45x60cm in size with a special LNB pair built as one unit to accommodate the narrow 3.8° spacing between satellites; the receiver uses the Motorola-proprietary Digicipher II system which has so far been virtually free of the problems with pirate decryption that have plagued other providers such as rival Bell TV. The standard 18" DBS antennas used by other providers are not compatible with this system as the signals differ in both frequency and polarization, due to Star Choice being relayed via FSS satellites, Anik F1 and F2 in this case.

Star choice use a simply linear LNB.
A 30" dish can get easily SC in Canada, a 36" in USA forget it in South America.

Anik F1R 107.3W
Anik F2 111.1W

Why would you want the signal if you cannot see the picture? What about "It is not hacked" do you all not understand?

Yo can't get DC-II Video signal on yor FTA receiver yet

- As of today no public indications that Star*Choice is hacked
- I do think it will be with an add on hardware Module
- DC-II and DVB are almost compatible but they are not
- I do think a hrdware module like Genpix-electronics will let yo convert encoded packets like DSS and DC-II to be played on yor FTA receiver if yo have a USB module

If coders are as good as I thought then a bin for both D*TV and Star*Choice will be publically released soon

But for now pointing to Star*Choice and/or D*TV is easier than yo think
Making yor piece of hardware compatible is the current biggest challenge

But won't be much of a challenge soon

That Genpix-electronics is capable of but too expensive to rely on

Be patient a little
-------------------------------------------------------------

To point to Star*Choice 107W and 111W
To get both at same time yo'll need:
- 2 skinny Linear LNBFs 11.7G to 12.2G
- 2 LNBFs must be very close to each other
- LNB tilt applies or skew dish with both LNBs leveled
REMEMBER
2 LNBFs FORM 6 DEGREES not 4
So yo must eaither get 2 skinny LNBs or overlap the 2 Linear LNBS which can result in missing TPS
Or use 2 LNBs capable of 4 degrees if there is any
- 30" dish
- A 30" dish and a motor will get yo One or the Other

But no hardware and no bins yet
To be continued
