Plaintiff served each of defendant's authorized dealers with a subpoena under Fed.R.Civ.P. 45 seeking the identity of each person who purchased or received a receiver from January 1, 2003, to June 30, 2008, including the person's name, address, phone number, email address, as well as the purchase date and other information concerning the receiver." |

I use FTA as FTA, so I have no problem. It seems strange that they will try to go after everyone who buys an FTA receiver. It would be like going after everyone who ever bought a gun, trying to find who used a gun to commit a crime. |

Silver Member Username: JustforhahasPost Number: 671 Registered: Jul-08 | hey DTV did it and got away with it for many years...just for buying an iso programmer that has many legal uses...and they exorted monies from ya through attorneys and civil suits that usually scared most people into a settlement that was cheaper than hiring an attorney.. Also remember that Echostar just requested the same thing from Viewsat recently via the court system...and Viewsat agreed and is complying now, if ya send in your receiver to them for repairs.. So anything is possible, no matter how LEGAL and SAFE, you think you may be...Also remember, are you willing to pay an attorney $10,000-$20,000 and possibly lose a case, instead of settling for $3000 and then having no more worries from DN.. Remember DN and Bev are BIG BUSINESS, and will do anything for a buck...and most FTA users are just common people trying to get by...News of this Echostar/Dishnet action against Pansat should give ya food for thought and make ya all be a little more caucious with your postings and wordings, and how ya continue in this hobby... (NEVER say "I get PPV's on my FTA receiver, etc"...instead say "I heard FTA is capable of getting PPV's") BTW...thanks to RTAP for this original post here...it makes ya aware of reality and think.. |

Noboby are able to say which satellite you get with motorized dish. |
