All PVRs use USB to hard drive
If yo own a PVR which I think is a great thing to have especially during ECMs or any other outage
Yo can't edit yor own shows
It sucks that yo can't cut out commercials cuz they forbid manufacturers to make such devices
It basically kills advertisement business
TIVO is always behind this

Many times movies end but yor PVR continues to record
It chews a lot of yor hard drive space

There is a third party product called
VideoReDo Plus
It edits MPEG-2
So yo can transfer to DVD nice and easy
http://www.videoredo.com

If yo have any feedback on this product or similar one please feel free to share it here

DO NOT POST SERIAL NUMBER
I repeat Do not post serial numbers
It's against forum policy

That's a great program. Just wanted to point out tho:

For Viewsat users.. To do this you have to transfer the movie or show over to the F side of the hard drive. If you dont you will not be able to access it on your windows pc. You will then be able to edit the recording from your computer using VideoReDo Plus.

One other thing.. You CAN'T put the video back on your receiver PVR after you have done the editing. Your stuck watching it on your PC!
