Hey

I m a newbie and planning to setup an fta, so far i got the cool_sat 6000pre reciver.next i need a dish

The bird i can get from my apartment-as per the location is 119w..
from dishpointer.com it tells me the dish size i need is 100cm = 39'(its too big to ugly for my balcony). so i wonder is it possible to use any other smaller dish+lnb to catch the 119(echo 7)

Thanks in advance..}

Greg is right never give details on you here for your protection.

From Montreal you can buy a 30" for get 118.7(Anik F3) but if you want get only Echo 7 119 you can get some channels with you actual 18"

Do you speak french?

Only international channels for 18" dish is 61.5W
About 38 degrees counter clockwise and slightly up if yo live in Montreal

This is the listing for 61.5:
http://ftabins.net/

BTW
Yo can get internationals on 118.75W which is the same pointing as 119 on a 28" dish
The dish is called dish 500plus
Will get yo 118 with good signal level
LNB yo'll need is called Dual Circular 118/119
Yo can buy from e-bay less than $20 USD

He man good luck with the Cool sat "6000". I tried to help a friend keep his running but the bins are hard to come by.

For the dish, look around flea markets, online auctions, your neighbors house...

I have gotten alot them from people who just are using cable tv. Just make sure it is a DISH... LOL "DISH 500" is most popular and easiest to grab at a lost cost.

Good luck ;-)Upload

To get both 119/100 (english) and 61.5 or other (international) you need two seperate dishes. These sats are in different directions. Make sure you get a DP34 or simular switch. It is some what of a combiner, but for sat signal not RF make sure to verify the freqs requirements of the switch to check for compatiblity.

P.S. I use a Pansat baseline box. (I.E. Fortec Ultra) I picked it up of an aution online for 65.00 with shipping. It gets me by, but if you into the biggest and best you ask for other models. I use it becuase Pansat file are easy to come by.
