Yes yo can if yo live in the US
Depending on where yo live and how strong signal yo want
Yo'll need:
CB2008A

Upload

Or this special Dish 500+ LNBF for 118/119 from e-bay

People have had success with getting some channels from 118.7 using CB2008A even on a 20" Dish.
However, if you want to get good quality continuous signal you need 30-33" Dish.

If yor in the south part of the US it will work just like dish 500
But for people up northern US and Canada signal will be little less

But over all it worth trying on a small dish
At one time I got very strong signal
And I say it should work

People have tried using the LNBs they used for larger dishes and have failed to get 118.7 with those LNBs. Therefore you need the CB2008A or similar LNB for 118.7 Anik3.

They failed cuz they didn't know how to enter TP manually and some linear LNBs are better than others in terms of gains

I never tried that sat with 18" from NY
However it works with 24" dish and Digiwave LNB from NYC

Sada: The smaller the dish the lesser the signal strength. For a new installation I am discouraging use of 30" in favour of 33', unless you happen to have a 30" dish lying around. But a 20" or 24" dish is a definite no-no.
For Canadian climate, one has to be absolutely sure of your Dish and LNB installations - you can't be expected to go up to the roof to change or twick thing in the middle of snowy winters.

Hi Guys,

I'm in Vancouver, BC. I've seen people using 24" dish for 118 and 119. But as nalin recommended, I'm leaning towards getting 33" dish because of our weather. I checked couple of FTA stores. They only carry 24" ($65+tax) or 36" ($90+tax.
My questions: where can i find 33" dish in my area for decent price? If can't find one, would you recommend 36" and will it work for 118/119. Thanks guys.

I have 36" dish and digiwave lnb designed for 118 and 119, somehow I won't get good signal from both birds.(only 85 channel from 119 and only 20 bar signal for 118) not sure its my lnb or my viewsat extreme problem.

Do a blind scan with this good setting

LNB type - Universal
LNB High -11250
LNB LOW - 9750

If it dont work try to realigned your dish

Your LNB need to be in this position on bracket(see picture)
This LNB is sensitive with skew, because it is oval inside, aligned it.

- Single Circular LNB like 118 don't require LNB tilt
- 2 Satellites for circular require skew entire dish but no LNB tilt
That's because of position of satellites on King's belt

- Any Linear LNB for Linear polarity must be tilted or it won't work
- Providers use circular polarity for easier installation with multiple satellites

King it is a dual satellites, inside is OVAL, if you want get 2 sats with max signal, you need to adjust the skew on dish or LNB.

I tested one, i confirm it

Dual means 2 outputs
But it also happens to be capable of two satellites 118.75 and 119 next to each other

It depend where you are located
The is long enough if you keep the dual support.
But for get 118.7 with all strong Tp, it is not the best way.

compare surface of dish
20" 6283 square inch
30" 21150 square inch

33" dish recommended for 118.7 simply means that best signal will be from 33" OR LARGER dish. Many are getting by with a 30" and some with 24' but when the signal stregth feom sat is not the best you will have severe deterioration in signal i.e. if say the sat is sending a signal which is 80% of what is expected, your 24' Dish may drop more than half the channels you were getting. Hence it is best to get settled with a proper Dish.
Most of the people here have a 20" Dish with a 110/119 on it. The best thing to do is to get a new 33" dish ($40) and a new 118/119 LNB ($12-$20). If you don't have a switch use a DiseqC switch for $5.00.
The 118/119 LNB such as CB2008A has two outputs for two receivers, unless you specifically want to go low budget ($12) and buy a single output LNB.

The CB2008A is a special type LNB has both linear and circular.
Also it is pointed at 119W same as Echo 7 - NOT Echo 10.

U are the wannabee ignorant newbie here trying to be something of a leader, but are lower that whale spe*rm....and always will be...so learn your place here, cause U are on the bottom of this Totem pole pal!

I don't bother you or even post here anymore, but saw this bashing of me and had to reply to your IGNORANCE!...now STFU and pull your head out of your azz and learn from those here that DO know something!

Instead of being an azzhole here and trying to impress the others, learn FTA first, then respect those much more senior and knowledgeable than U...U have a LONG ways to go to be the top here, and earn the right to bash others like me, that U don't know!

I suggest U go to REAL DSS FTA sites and learn from us admins and mods who actually TEST and know what we are talking about!...I know U never will do this, cause of your wannabee cocky bashing immature kiddie attitude, but U were advised...so STFU now and go LEARN!

Where do I say anything about
The CB2008A is a special type LNB has both linear and circular.

As for the foot print map that I have posted above it's only a sample you stupid b!tch
Iam not talking about EchoStar 10
I only show three steps that a person needs to determinant
what size dish they would need instead all that bullshit
that you have listed above. You been here over

Yo such freaking retard
Pay attention to what yo post child

Echostar 10 is not 250E
There are 360 degrees
180 East for Eastern hemisphere
180 West for Western hemisphere
WTF is 250E ?
I know what'they meant but yo don't
I dare yo to explain to me what is 250E?

Yor too young to understand engineers foot prints
The sh!t yo c/p are 5 years outdated

Neither D#N nor D#TV post their signal in public anymore
These retarded sites ain't got data from providers
Stick to Lyngsat
And only Lyngsat
Those other sites fudge their data
They are far from accurate

Stop posting for adults sake
Yo gotta use yor head a little bit kid
Come back in 5 years when yor at least adult size

I quoted:
"I know what they meant but yo don't
I dare yo to explain to me what is 250E? "

The question wasn't directed to yo
I was bluffing the kid
I'm trying to teach the 13 year old egyptian kid
When yor on the western hemisphere the eastern arc is not reachable
Unless yo find a way to go thru the core of the earth

BTW
The list yo got above is also one year outdated
Lyngsat is always up to date
Yo can always count on it
I know I always do
He's trying hard to prove otherwise

Is that right?
Is this why they still have AMC-16 on 119W
Where as AMC-16 was moved back to 85
Which was replaced by Anik-3 more than a year ago

Or WB 111.1 ( R )polarity is still in space while it was pulled out early this year
There was 2 WB now is olny one WB:
111.1 ( L ) polarity Anik-F2 to service Canada and the US
111.2 ( R )polarity WB-1 (which is/was owned by wild blue is no longer in service)

Trust me
Stick to Lyngsat
When yo wanna rely on reasonably updated info yo can count on

Yes King you are right, this list is not to date for all satellites.

Look
I know it's hard to keep up with all satellite updates
Especially now days the population of newer satellites constantly change

They rely on satellite owners to submmit their data
What bothers me all other sites make up data to look complete

I'm sure lyngsat make mistakes
I do find few from time to time
But a lot less than all the others
