ftabins.net yo must sign up to be able to load anything

If yo don't want to sign up
yo can go to dsscentral..net to get loader2
Then go to ftahq.com and get latest bin
bin for Xtreme is
DBPSW-080730X.zip
Always ends with-X

Don't forget to unzip it

Thanks - I went to the first one and got lost.lol

The second link gives me several files, but I am not sure which one I need. And I don't see a loader either.

I guess I am very new at this....

Procedure:
- Yo need a 9 pin Null cable which usually comes with receiver
- Receiver must be off from back switch
- Open Loader2 in yor Laptop
- Select latest unzipped bin
- Select PC to STB
- Turn on reciver
- It will start loading and updating
- get a cup of coffee while it's loading let it complete its entire PGM

That's it

You guys are the best :-) I will have to go and find a cable now, since the receiver was given to me without a cable.

I never tried loader-1
Have yo tried loader-1?
I don't think they are the same
I can try it only if yo do first

As far as I know it supposed to have a slight modification
Everywhere it's posted Loader2 is what's required

I found a 9 pin null cable, but my laptop has only the male connector same as the receiver. It has another female connector but not 9 pin one.I wonder if I can use 9 pin male to male cable or maybe have to find a special cable.

Your cable need to have 2 female connector.
The female connector on laptop is VGA monitor out.
I think you can buy it at RadioShack or any satellite seller

Try e-bay
Type null cable
It should be #3 to $5

F/F cable is what yo need
Yo should ask whoever sold it to yo why couldn't supply cable that usually comes with

And make sure it's not a VU-sat clone

Ok guys I got the cable /female to female/ Selected port 1 on the loader app and started to load the file /turned the receiver on/ The % stays 0 for the last 10 min.No change....

I tried the other ports - port 2 and 3 - same thing....Is it just slow or am I doing something wrong? Please advise.

Thanks

Try it: Power off on back panel, push and hold front power and power on on back panel, release front power button and load the factory bin with loader1 from Viewsat

If anyone were to be looking to buy a Viewsat or other FTA Receiver in US or Canada they should go to www.extremefta.com I do not work for t hem and I am not getting any prize for them for posting this but I ordered a Extreme from them and let me just tell you: Words cannot describe how pleasent and nice they are to work with. Noone I have EVER bought anything from, including in the local supermarket, was that nice. I sent a money order and I called about twice to three times wondering if it got there yet or not. The man on the line says "You can call every day if that makes you feel better" in a kind voice. "It will be there before you know it". I love this company and urge anyone to buy from it.
