I suggested a 3 x 8 switch in another thread. Have you tried it?

Hey Nalin, thanks for the reply. My question was in that switch one of the 3 inputs is tv antenna. Can i plug a third satellite into that port? I will have 110 on A 119 on B and 61.5 on tv/antenna? And then all 5 tvs will be able to switch channels and have good signal?

6x8 switch is the only option for 3 sats to up to 8 receivers

But if I were yo
I would not replace the DP34
I would pick one output and split it to 2 rooms
This will share transponders
But in many cases yo won't be in all 5 rooms at same time
So yo turn off one receiver while watching the other

Upload

If yo use a splitter it must be high freq
2GHz or 2000MHz
2.4 G or 2400MHz
Any splitter less than 1800M will not work

900M or 1000M will not work

Remember basic rules of splitting
I order to split both V&H polarities
A 3x4 switch is required
In yor situation I would not consider 3x4 SW

So i bought a Philips Multi-switch SDW5058. Which port gets which wire? i have 3 wires for 3 lnbs. 119 is one wire. 110 is one wire. 61.5 is one wire. The five inputs are labeled. port 1 terr. port 2 18v. port 3 13v. port 4 13v/22khz. port 5 13v/22khz. where does each lnb wire go?

One sat is not one wire
One sat must be 2 wires if multiple receivers is used

One sat must have both polarities V&H
V=13 Volts, H=18 Volts
If yo don't V&H will conflict along when 2 or more receivers on at same time

For best results with this receiver
Each Sat/LNB must be 2 outlet Coax
1- goes to 13V other to 18V
Doesn't matter which one is which

Don't worry about 22k
That's for DTV LNBs dish antenna

Only thing to worry about
Each Sat goes to 13 and 18 Volts
To get both V&H on all receivers

Hey King

Ok, i'm not the brightest guy so bare with me.

Right now i got a dp34 switch hooked up with 3 wires going in and 4 out.

So im going to disconnect the 3 wires going in and put them in this new switch right?

Actually I just checked the specs on this switch
This is called 5x8 Switch
2 Sats and 1-Terresterial antenna
2 sats= 4-inputs + 1-antenna

I'm afraid this won't work on 3 sats
2 sats or yo share polarity on the others

Yor DP34 is a much better switch
Yo can get another DP34 and cascade it for more receiver outputs

ok, i will get another dp34 switch. but isn't what i did pretty much the same? i hooked up 3 wires from dp34 to additional switch. then i put those 3 wires into a disceq switch. that switch is 4x1. but im getting loss on one tv and low signal. am i doing something wrong?

There should be a picture on how to cascade 2 switches
On DP34
The 3 coax cables on right go to 3 coax on left of the second

ok, i guess ill try that. cuz what i did was have the 3 left ones hooked up. then 4 at the bottom. then 3 at the right going into a 4x1 switch for the 5th receiver? is that different than hooking up a 2nd dp34?

The DP34 uses a more advanced 13/18 voltage devider
When yo use all DN equipment
Once yo mix switches yo'll have polarity conflict
4x1 is a DISEqC (apples and oranges)

Just for curiosity
What kind of receivers yo got?
Do yo have any TIVO/DVR?

Cascading will require 1000mA
i.e. at least one DN receiver must be used per switch

King has suggested buying a second DP34 and cascading it.
You would get 7 total outputs
