Sonicview 360 Premier

________________________________________

The Premier is the second of the 360 line of receivers out. A sleek black box that matches the modern HDTV with a glossy piano finish, when you plug it in the Sonicview Logo lights up in blue, which was very cool. The 350 Premier also has 2 USB ports 1 rear and 1 in front. Two small buttons (on/off and menu) and a set of ring buttons (left/right/up/down arrows and ok) on the front panel allow you to completely operate the receiver without a remote if necessary.
There are the typical RCA jacks that provide video and stereo analog outputs. But for improved video quality there is an S video output and better yet, another set of RCA jacks that give you component video outputs (Y, PB and Pr), to go along with that is an optical S-PDIF digital audio output for higher audio quality. The tuner is also improved as well giving near HD quality picture.
The Remote fits ergonomically in your hand, the ring buttons and the buttons for the numerical keypad glow in the dark.
The Sonicview 360 Premier comes with a preprogrammed list of 195 satellites and you can even add five more. The Sonicview is Diseqc 1.0/1.1/1.2/USALS compatible, allowing you to connect its two tuner inputs to almost any impossible antenna configuration from a single antenna to a motorized system.
The 360 Premier uses an external hard drive. Recording a program is as simple as pressing the red Record button on the remote control. Simply push the stop button to end the recording.
There is also an eight event timer so you can set the receiver to record your favorite programs while you are gone, as well as a time switch function to put a program on hold if you get interrupted during a program. You can also watch one program while you record another.
Summary:
Coupled with Sonicview support this is a great receiver. The look and functions of the premier are almost identical to the more expensive Elite at a lower cost. The price is reasonable, making it a wonderful choice for either a new receiver or your first receiver. If looking at entry level receivers, or upgrading to PVR, the picture quality alone makes this a sure choice. The PVR you will wonder how you lived without. Make sure to purchase from an authorized Sonicview Dealer.
