Hello
I have two viewsat ultra receivers. One of the receivers works fine on echo 3 and echo 7. The other receiver works fine for echo 7 but not echo 3. I checked the antenna setup and it look fine....however, on top of the antenna setup over the echo 3 it indicates echo 7 when i change the TP freq it echo 7 disappears but for echo 3, but still no signal. The Freq for echo 3 is 12297.

Please help and thanking you in advance.

Ech-st-3 TP freq 12297 is radio France
Change to TP 12326
What kind of switch and how did yo set it?
How did yo wire it?
Yo either DISEqC port assignment is somehow crossed wrong
Or favortite chan selection is stuck
Or possible sat selection button is selected and yor not aware of it

Tp Freq is use just for aligned dish and confirmed you are on good satellite, when you autoscan the sat., you dont need it.

Reload the last bin and delete Echo3 in channel scan menu and setup echo3 and autoscan it.

Try another switch if that not work

Reply if that not work and we help you.

Hello and thank you for your responses.

Last night i was able to set up echo 3 and echo 7 and it worked for awhile. However, this morning I have no signal. I check all the cables.
Just to mention one of my receiver works fine - the one i am having trouble with since yesterday worked fine before yesterday. Do you think the problem with the signal could the the cable attached to this receiver?

thanks again

Jackie where is the Diseqc switch located ? Is it near the receivers or near the antenna ? If it is located near the antenna what is the length of cable between each receiver and the Diseqcs ?

Diseqc switches are prone to NOT functioning reliably if they are located far away from the receiver unit. They loose their status all of a sudden. Which sounds like your problem.

King is correct. You need to tell us more on your setup. What kind of Diseqc do you use ? Where are they located ? Length of cable etc...

Diseqc Switch is located outside my house - about 100 feet away from where my receiver is located inside. The name on the Diseqc Switch says Viewsat on it.

Where would i purchase proper Diseqc Switch for my receiver?
Thank you
Jackie

I don't think it will help changing the switch. It has to be physically close to your receiver to work reliably.

What about your other receiver. The one that is working correctly. Does it also have a Diseqc switch located 100 feet away or is it closer to the receiver ? Is is the same brand of Diseqc ?

It is a Diseqc Switch and it is outside approximatly 100 feet away, however, it is protected from the weather. The troubled one is visiable to the weather elements. We have had lightning, rain, wind etc fro the past few days -? Should I get these switchs moved inside the house opposed to them being outside?
thanks

jackie buy a outdoor switch with plastique cover.

The viewsat switch is very cheap and easy to bust.

If before that work with 100 feets, i dont see why that not work now.
Unhook and cable and put grease on connector.

Jackie wants a model number Plymouth. A recommendation for purchase. I don't have a suggestion for him/her. Do you have one ?

I myself keep Diseqc switches 6 inches away from receiver then I have long cables to the antennas.

Most likely yor DISEqC SW is OK
Yo probably got mismatched ports
Between yor wiring and antenna setup

It's me again - Help.
I changed the DISEqC switch and still no echo 3 stations. Echo 7 is ok. when i go to echo 3 station it says auto rolling but under the bottom discription it says echo 7 not ech 3. I have checked the antenna set up and everything is fine - I than thought it maybe the receiver - so I took the receiver and installed it upstairs where my other Viewsat is working fine and the receiver works fine. What should i check next the cable from the dish going to this receiver. I am really lost and i am not techincal at all.
thank you
Jackei

Pull up Channel Edit.
Delete all channels on Echo 3.
Now do a Blind Scan on Echo 3.

BTW since it works OK upstairs, why not leave it up there and bring
the other Receiver down stairs and see what happens.

Thank You for your response
I did take the other receiver from upstairs and same thing happened. Both receivers work correct upstairs and both recievers do not work correct downstairs

Side Note - upstairs the receiver under the antenna setup has all the setting for echo 3 but right on top it says echo 7 and it won't go away.

Based on what I read and before yo change yor DISEqC
I told yo yor switch wasn't the problem

Yo probably got mismatched ports
Between yor wiring and antenna setup

List yor settings on each receiver
List yor all yor hardware wirings
I will get yo up and runing in few seconds
Listening to 5 different won't help
Yo wanna get up and runing yo list yor details
And follow what I tell yo

Ok thanks King I am at work right now I will email you all the settings soon.
The only silly question is which settings do you want from the antenna setup or from something else.
