You can buy a new dish, or look around for a used one, a 10' or 12' is best, c/ku is recommended now, you can slave a dvb receiver to your old analog receiver to get over 500 free channels, if you want low cost subs get a 4dtv slaving a dvb receiver to it is still a bonus.

These places and many others have what you need:
USA www.skyvision.com
Canada www.rpssat.com

Yes but I would not recommended it as a real setup, maybe just for fun, as you will only get like 10%-15% of what's up there, 8.5' is the smallest I would go and with this size you will still have trouble with some feeds with a fec of 7/8 unless the dish is very well tuned.

Main reason is because here in North America most birds are spaced out by 2 degrees, the smaller the dish the more of the sky it sees, so with a 4' you will be hitting more than one bird at a time, 8.5' should just be enough to prevent adjacent satellite interference.

Wrong Bubba
BUD is for people that don't know any better

If yo live in the US on the east coast
I can show yo techniques to get tons of channels True Free to Air
To all unscrambled channels
First generation high quality
Both on Ku/C-band
Yo can get all with a 1.2Meter motorized dish
Let me repeat this again 1.2 Meter
This is not a typo
This is for people that take the hobby to another level
As long as it's away from violating the law of PTA

Even with 1.0 meter yo can get great deal of both C-band/Ku band even signal beyond the Atlantic
There are few rules to apply

For West coast very difficult with small dish
In Canada 1.5Meter or even 2 Meter yo can still get a lot

The techniques I know
If one day D-cypher is hacked yo can practically empty the sky with tons and tons of channels first generation C-band signal with only a 1.2Meter all stright to yor FTA receiver

This is mainly why I came to learn Satellites cuz what I came across is beyond any other hobbyist I'm only willing to share what I know with other true hobbyists

Yo'll learn all soon on King's Corner
I would of posted it sooner if I had my Corner Kids Free meaning only one TFR that's Jimmy
I have no problem with Yukon or White Hawk anymore

Would yo like to know how?

#279

I have been member of the UK site for yrs aZZwipe and therory of of setup has nothing to do with hemisphere..

Should I go dig out in the archives the post where you said the placement of lnb for 110 and 119 changes from right to left for east coast to the west coast... THAT was one of your better Retards MOVES on here of the past...

Or then the classic is ka and lnb discussion where it took like 40 post to explain how the recivers never gets the 18ghz cuz of the lnb downward frequency conversion... But being the numbNUTZ you are you didn't understand how a Low noise Block works

Digicipher II is an encryption, with a 4dtv you can get DCII mpeg II programming, a 4' is useless, especially on broadcasts from HBO and others that use a 7/8 fec, you will get nothing, again you need 8.5' minimum to get C-band in North America, a 6' dish will work but will have issues on 7/8 fec feeds and on birds next to each other with lots of traffic.

Personally I would not go smaller than 10' having c/ku-band 4dtv and dvb is the way to go.
