On Channel Master
TOOLS -> Read from STB
I selected 'Save as Binary Channel File'.
Appeared to work fine.
-----------------
Then after loading new bin file, when I
tried to use Channel Master to write channels back to STB, I don't get:
TOOLS -> Write to STB
Only getting TOOLS -> Read from STB

Any idea/help will be appreaciated. Thanks.

The new BIN if it has loaded properly should make the system reboot and come to ON position.
If you then go into channel master you should see "write to STB" under Tools

Lucia (Calgary, AB), suggested following:

I'm not that good explaining stuff but..

Canadian, did you download channel master already? If thats the case.. Make a blind scan or whatever and BEFORE loading a new bin connect your reciever to ur computer just like when you load a bin and on Channel Master go to Tools > Read from STB and choose the type of reciever you got and wait for it to load.. then save your channel list.

Now you can load your new bin, then on channel master (with your channel list open) go to Tools > Write to STB, choose type of reciever and wait for it to finish.

My problem may be that I am not keeping the channel list open. It is saved as a binary file and I am not sure how to keep it open.

Nalin,
It is a 2800A. After the bin file is loaded (appaers successful), as usual all
channel programming is gone. The MENU shows English (Language selection). Then I can go to INSTALLATION etc. So that part is normal. But on Channel Master I only see 'Read from STB'

I looked at info on CM version 18.4.1 I have and it does not support 2800.
The latest version is 19.02 dated April of this year.

You might like to look at the version you have and upgrade at
