Hey so i just put up a new dish today and i am having a heck of a time catching echostar 61.5.
I am able to catch Nimi2, 82 just fine with good signal. basically according to Sat Calculators once i am locked into Nimiq 2 i have to just drop my angle down 3 degrees which i did and move the sat to the left which i also did.
I am catching signal but the sat is not identifying itself, and the signal is bouncing up and down between 0 and 75
this is my antenna setup
legay sw none motor off diseqc none tp freq 12297 22khz off lnb freq - 11250 lnb: standards
im in the toronto area can the hesight at which i am mounting the dish matter - i am installing it one afence post - from there i CAN catch nmiq 2 and 1,3 fine but you think maybe i should go higher for Echostar 3 maybe on a wall?
- 61.5 (echo-3) is about 10 degrees counter-clockwise from 82 and slightly up not down if yo are on east cost (Toronto area)
- DN have been slowly adding more HD on 61.5 so yo might want to try TP 12326
- Selecting Universal LNB might be better than standard
- Any time yo get signal up and down it it is a frequency issue caused by mismatch LNB type to selected TP on that freq mainly I think yo are on wrong satellite

i ended up taking everything down - tomorrow i will start again and actually mount on the wall right now i was trying ona wooden fence post.
i think i may have a line of site issues as well - but ill see.
on thing i noticed is when i change the TP frequency and hit exit it does not ask me to save.. like it does when i make other changes... then if i come back into anetnna set up i notice tp freq is back to its default settings - any idea what i could be doing wrong?
hey african so i caught it!! i got echo 3 but again same problem i cant get antenna settings to keep 12326 ..... as long as Tp is on 12326 i am getting good signal but as soon as i hit exit and go out and come back in it is back to default - i cant make is stay of 12326 any suggestions
