I have heard mention of new tv's coming out with a cablecard that negates use of a set top box. I am confused as to what features I may lose. ex. CC person said I cannot tape a show while watching another (cannot live w/o my O.C.) Could someone explain pros/cons of this cablecard? Thank you in advance, Valerie

The title is supposed to be 'new cablecard tv's'
Not sure how 'Ut' appeared. Sorry

A DCR (Digital Cable Ready) TV supports digital cable just like a single tuner digital cable set-top - they can only tune one channel at a time (and the CableCARD can only decrypt one channel/service at a time). However, you may have some other options if the other channel you are interested in is analog (possibly tune to it or record it on your vcr or through your TV's pip picture-in-picture window). Typically the "analog" channels are the ones below ch 100.

Another benefit of most if not all DCR TV's is that they support High-Definition TV, both via cable and free over-the-air broadcasts (just need an antenna) and also ClearQAM (free clear digital over cable).

Good luck!
