I have Viewsat Extreme and I am getting all the English channels but no Indian channels. Why is that? When I click on Installation/Antenna Setup and enter the setting..I do get 110 and 119. But when I work on 148 or 61.5 and change the ports I still see 110 and 119 and dont see 148 or 61.5. Why is that? I do have problem with Auto Rolling and Signal Searching. They just don't go away. Please help.

la pawnshop: You have not mentioned if you have a second dish for 61.5W or for 148W. If you have only one dish, then I suggest you stop wasting time and install another dish for 61.5W or for 148W. You can't get 119W,110W and 61.5w on one dish You may get a few Indian channels on 119w, because there is a second sat close by at 118.7W. If you are interested in International channels, you should change your Dish and LNB to: - 30-33" dish (about $50) - LNB CB2008A for 118.7 and 119 (about $25) - A standard Dual LNB for 110W (about $15) - 1 or 2 DisEqC switches for one or two receivers. ($5-10 each) If you want to go this route, ask "mad flea" to help you set it up when you have it installed.
I have same feeling as you, Nalin. I think pawnshop has one dish. May be dish500. Just not enough info to help.
Pawnshop if you have autorolling problem, you might want to do factory default and rescan. Just make sure you write down your antenna seting before you do the default. Once you do the default, go back into antenna setting and set the settings back as you had before you did the default. Then rescan the satellite...
make sure your antenna setting are correct, and you do get signal/quality on 118's first tp 11715 before you do the scan, otherwise chances are not gonna get much of the internationals.
I am getting all my Indian channels and English Channels. Here is my dish setup info:
ECHO STAR 8, 10 = 110.W LNB POWER = ON LNB TYPE = OCS-DP LNB FREQ = 11250 22 KHZ = OFF TP = 12224 DISEQC 1.0 = PORT 2 MOTOR = OFF LEGACY SW = NONE
ECHO STAR 7 = 119.W LNB POWER = ON LNB TYPE = OCS-DP LNB FREQ = 11250 22 KHZ = OFF TP = 12224 DISEQC 1.0 = PORT 1 MOTOR = OFF LEGACY SW = NONE
ECHO STAR 1,2 = 148.W (Indian) LNB POWER = ON LNB TYPE = OCS-DP LNB FREQ = 11250 22 KHZ = OFF TP = 12603 DISEQC 1.0 = PORT 1 ( I see 119 on top of my tv) MOTOR = OFF LEGACY SW = NONE
Now I have one another problem and it is that I am getting many duplicate channel on my TV Guide. Very annoying. Please help how to remove them. Thanks.
I am at work again and when I go home, I will post my latest dish setup info. Thanks.
There are 42 TP settings that come up on the antenna setup window for echo 119. Some of them have signal strength upto 85 and some of them have 0. eg tp 12224 has 0 signal strength.
You thin you are getting 148W, because that is what you set up in your Antenna setup. You are actually getting 118.7W on Port 1 and also 119W. Your valid TPs are still those for 118.7 (anik3) and 119w (Echo 7) A lot of people have tried to explain to you but you are refusing to accept it.
here is my antenna setup settings LNB type: standard LNB Freq.: 11250 22KHZ : off Diseqc: #2 Legacy S/w : none Skew : 0 TP : 1st TP 12224 V20.000 Level: 81% Quality : 0 at TP12224, 40 to 80% on the balance
for 118, first you need to be sure you have the lnb for it. there are many posts about it in this forum.
as for the settings, the settings you have in the post above is for the 119, 119 starts at 12239 with better signals, 12224 are most locals.
118 needs 10750 for lnb freq, either create new sat or delete 121 list, add tp 11715-20000-H-7/8, if you get signal/quality there, you will be able to get the rest of the tp in with regular scan.
I am a bit confused here now. I was getting all the channels on these settings before and suddenly it started dropping. The LNB is the same and I was scanning echo 119 (118.8).
I am not sure if the settings have changed now on its own or it is LNB that has gone bad. Is there a way to find that out. I can scan some of the channels but now all.
Do I need to change the LNB freq to make it work. Sorry for my limited knowledge and would need a lot of handholding here.
I will make one more attemt at amking you understand that any sat you select and connect to Port 1 will give you the same channels if you use these settings: ECHO STAR 7 = 119.W LNB POWER = ON LNB TYPE = OCS-DP LNB FREQ = 11250 22 KHZ = OFF TP = 12224 DISEQC 1.0 = PORT 1 MOTOR = OFF LEGACY SW = NONE
Try it using other sat names in your setup and scan and see and learn what happens. Then post back here asking Mad Flea, about how to set up 118.7W and 119W properly.
