Then the new files don't work. Where would I go for help to resolve this? I've read all the comments and no one else seems to have this problem. Is it in my "settings" ? It is obvious that you do not know simple computer use and you will get into severe problems as you proceed. Your last problem is because you have not unzipped the file. All files come as zipped files with .zip suffix and you have to unzip first. The loader unzips to a .exe file and the BIN unzips to a .bin file. Get the unzip software if you do not have it, and install it. http://www.winzip.com Above all, get computer use help, otherwise you will ruin your receiver. |

There are too many weaknesses in HD FTA receivers to recommend one over other. Check out the specs before you decide. You could go for Viewsat Ultra or Pro. I would strongly recommend that you buy something with USB loading features. If you are looking at recording, you could buy the PVR model of Sonicview or Viewsat. As a deviation from the main stream of FTA buyers, you could consider a Nfusion or Dreambox. Nfusion receivers are supported when a new BIN is needed and usually are up and running much before others. The company magically installs the new BIN or holds your hands during the 1-2 days of ECM. Apparently they are in communication with God and hence can do it. You would need an Internet connection though. God lives in Korea. Dreambox uses proprietary Linux based "member supported" software, and usually gets the BINs faster. You could probably buy 3 Sonicview 4000 for the price of a Dreambox. |
