you will need to find a older computer and use it with a str8 serial cable in order to get that old receiver to work mabee...

NFUSION is up and running now

1. A Pansat 2500/FLU converted to 2700, is still physically a Pansat 2500 and will use a straight RS232 cable.
2. USB to serial cables should always be bought with an installation CD which allows you to bypass Windows XP automatic installation - and you install drivers provided with the device.
3. Go into Device Manager of computer and set the Com port to 1 (or 2) and use the loaders oftware accordingly.

Most loaders deafualt to COM port 1, but this can be changed to COM 2. Some may allow changing to COM 3 or COM 4.

I gave requirements - No 2 and 3 in my post. You must satisfy those requirements.

4. If you are not sure about cable, always have a DB9 M/F null adaptor handy. Then you can have the adaptor in series to create the pinout opposite to without it.

The cable will work fine. Just plug what ever cable Null/or straight between that and the STB.

You will need to have drivers installed for the usb adapter and need to know which com port windows assigns to it. That can be seen in device manager.

Hey man,

usb to serial is tempormental on some devices. I got mine working with a pansat 2700 that i had but the data transfer took an hour, VERY SLOW. You cn go into device manager and click proerties of the com port the device installed as and try to change it there. I did some t and s for nascar and we used laptops with no serial for our amb tansponder box. we had to use two laptops and a y serial cable for fault tolerance as from time to time they would be unstable and stop working. never seen a usb to serial device 100 percent reliable yet.
