EUROBIRD 1 :: 28.5 ° East
With twenty-four operational channels, the EUROBIRD 1 satellite provides coverage of Western and Central Europe, extending as far west as the Canary Islands.

Designed for the provision of direct-to-home television and multimedia services, the transmit coverage provides high power over several European countries, including Germany and the United Kingdom, permitting the use of very small receive antennae. The receive coverage provides uplink capability over a very wide area.

I guess it answers my question :-(

eurobird 1 works between 28.5E and 331W?i thought it's only a close range

see, since i dont know how to use these numbers, i have to call my friend, that actually set up my dish on my roof...but if i'm able to catch eurobird 1, then i have access to 79 channels from romania,,,and i'm set
i currently have 3-4 on GC, which work once every 2 months...
1) do i need a special dish, or the GC should be fine? actually when i order the romanian channels, i get the receiver + dish + lnb..im guessing it should work in the states too

2) where did u acquire this info regarding bakersfield, if u dont mind me asking? can i get a link? I will have this site on my laptop when he comes here...

THANK U SOOO MUCH!!

That bird is on the other part of the world and out of our reach here in the usa. I clue is its at EUROBIRD 1 :: 28.5 ° East. All the ones we can get are alway WEST NOT EAST. I went and looked at www.dishpointer.com and its not listed as one we can see..

Hope that helps

Are the channels on it even in the clear?

thanks dude, i'm slowly starting to give up :-(
now i started to realize what these numbers mean; b/c i have a friend that goes up on the house to fix the dish, i never really knew what these numbers stand for...but the negative elevation angle is the reason we can't do it...

i figured maybe the new motirzed dishes may pick up signal, what the he-ll do i know? :-)
