LCD Flat Panel Calibration

Is there anything more you can do to calibrate an LCD flat panel TV than play w/ the Tint, Contrast, Black Level settings etc.? I have a 20" Sharp Aquos (model # LC-20 B4US) that I tried calibrating with a THX feature on a DVD I rented and wasn't able to achieve the desired results... the standard settings just weren't sufficient. Is there a hidden menu?

Also, I have a Panasonic DVD-S55S player that has a menu setting for the type of TV it's connected to... when I played w/ the setting, the player appeared to look better when set to "plasma" than when set to "LCD". Any one have experience with this?

Much thanks!

Theres probably a service menu with drive/cutoff calibration. You would need a color analyzer to do that and they arent cheap. Sencore makes great test/calibration equipment. But other than spending thousands or paying hundreds to have someone certified come over and calbrate it for you, do the best you can do :-)
