Has anyone installed the CB2008A LNB for 118.7 (Anik F3) and 119. I plan to buy it tomorrow and get it installed. Just wanted to know whether anyone had any trouble with it?

I have a Viewsat Extreme, so if I am right I should get both 118.7 and 119 when I do a blind scan on Echostar 7. Am I right?

you are wrong. You scan 119, and 118 not both together.
118.7 is a sat that is liner but uses circular frequency's

119 is a sat that uses circular and circular frequency's.

The 118 is a low power sat so you should have a 31" dish for it. here is a good thread on the matter

ok i read that and we tried it with our lnb with no results. Your lnb will get it. with the echostar 9 "trick" ....aim at 118, add the 4 frequency's for 118 to eco9's transponder list and you will get both. You cannot do that trick with echostar 7 it is circular and 118 is liner.

now i get it thanks to you i understand this 118 sat better..

here is a link to the thread on how i ge that sat with my lnb the qph-031

Well TFT I think some people tried the trick with Echostar 7 and were lucky to get both 119 and 118.7. In the link I sent you a senior member has posted this

"delete 118.7w on your sat then add tp 11715 20000 V 7/8 at echo7 then scan youll get all your internationals back"

BTW what receiver did u test it with?

I just dont see how that would work. 119 uses circular formatted LNB and 118 uses liner formated LNB. How in the world you would tell a receiver to change the LNB FOR ONLY those 4 transponders is beyond everthing I can find.

On what that user said makes no sense anyway

their are 4 transponders not just the one he suggested. If you only added the 1 transponder you will only get some of them not all of them.

I am wondering if he was seeing the internationals that ARE on ecostar 7?

However it will work with echostar 9.
