You may have to reset your receiver, user and Antenna settings and do a rescan.

Or try the factory BIN followed by the latest BIN from a reputable site.

Nalin has the easiest suggestion...LOAD fac bin first!!!! If you have flash drive, keep fac bin and new bin loaded in it. It takes 15 seconds to do this. My VS has not froze doing this. No need to go through long complicated procedures!!! Hope it works for you.

Thanks Zulu.
I tried - factory default then loaded factory bin, still no quality -loaded latest bin and no luck.

Is it possible that my switch is gone as both extreme and ultra at two location in the house are doing same?

For problem Viewsat Ultras. - Ultras only, not other viewsats.

[link removed]

VS Ultra FAIL FIX

C&P
This is a repair program only! It is a tool used to repair 'dead' Viewsat Ultra boxes. It is not intended to make receivers decrypt anything!

Your Ultra will need the latest fix after it has been restored!

Works on GENUINE ver 1 & 2 VS Ultras

Will repair what appears to be an unrepairable 'dead' box...

- Unit will not respond to your remote
- Accidentally loaded the wrong bin
- USB not recognized
- the old favorites '----' and 'fail'
- Unlocks hopelessly locked units (codes -0000, 0937, 3570)
- Works on GENUINE VSUs
** This tool has not been tested on clones, so, I don't know if it'll work...
The list goes on...

Needed...

Loader2, the PVRloader is just as good
A NULL cable
Install 'mainpg.pgm' via your serial port, your presumed dead unit is now behaving as new!
Now get the latest fix and install via your thumb drive.
You DO NOT have to install a factory file.

Installed new mainpgm.pgm using serial port, installed new file. NO LUCK. Still no quality.
Also installed new sat file from viewsat site and new bin file 071222U - did not help. Just no quality and very low signal: 10 to 20 %only

It appears that DN boxes are fine and B3V users are having a bunch of problems.

Try fooling around with the LNB type, change it to Universal or Standard and see if that helps

Farina...Do you have a strong signal? Have you checked all your connections? Have you done Fac Default, Loaded new bin and scanned? Have you tried Channel list and channelmaster? B3V or DN?

Zulu and Fta Tester,

I have very week signal(10-20%)
Connection are fine
Settings are:

Echostar 3
LNB Power: off
LNB type: Standard
LNB Freq: 11250
22 KHZ: 0ff
TP Freq: 12297

DisEQc 1.0: Port3
Motor: off
Legavy Se: None

Same setting for echostar 8 except port # 1s 2

I have been always using this set up.

That is why I think snow might have screwed the switch on Garage roof. Hate to go in freezing rain to exchange with spare one I have.

Thanks FTA TESTER
I do not know what my LNB is.

I guess I will put a new one in a weather proof box tomorrow. I will let you know if it was the switch.

Thanks again for your help.
