Backup DVD in less than one hour

Jack White
I use a new DVD backup software ImTOO DVD Ripper to backup my DVD movies. I found it on download.com. When I back DVD to DivX, the encoding speed is almost two times of playback speed. I don't have to wait for so long time. But notice, if want to reach the best speed, 100% CPU is used, that means you cannot do other things when you backup. Those pepperboxes can use it! And the image effect is very OK. :-)

If you have a lot of hard drive space, use smart-ripper 1.4. I use it and it actually rips DVDs at 16x. Most movies take under 10 minutes.

If you are running XP or 2000, open Task Manager, Processes and right-click on the application name. Goto Set Priority and set the priority to BelowNormal. You will regain control of your PC with minimal effect on your rip.

Hope this helps.
