They are NOT splitters...they are called "switches"...they combine the signals and switch them , they do NOT "split" them ...like a splitter for 2 TV's... use any disque switch that cost $4-5...keep a few spares...and weatherproof them in tupperware or inside the attic or wherever...

The best are Spauns or chieta's which can be very expensive and really not needed..

"older dual head" use it for Bev at 91 degrees. One output of this goes to Port 3 of one DisEqC switch, and the other output goes to Port 3 of second DisEqC switch.
"one satellite has a dish pro". Use for 119W and 110W.
One output goes to a one to two splitter and the two outputs of the splitter go to Port 1 of each of the two DisEqC switches.
The other output goes to another one to two splitter and the two outputs of the splitter go to Port 2 of each of the two DiseqC switches.
The output of the first DisEqC switch goes to one receiver and the output of the second DisEqC switch goes to the other receiver.
The DisEqC switches mentioned above are 4 to 1 type and the 4th port will be left bare.
In software, set up Echo 7 (119W) as Port 1, Echo 8.1 (110W) as Port 2 and Nimiq 91W as port 3.
Scan all 6 settings (3 in each receiver).

There are people in this forum who will not reply till I have posted and then they will start abusing me and you. It is their habit.
Best of luck.

Nalin,

have you used the "loop" output on a cool*sat?
I have a cool*sat 5000 and a Dish 811 with a valid subscription, as a backup.
Frequently,I have to unhook the cool*sat to hook the dish reciever in order for it to get updates.

I have a single LNB, so switches dont work.

So, I think on hooking the loop output to the sat in.

You think its safe? I am worried about the current output-.

Thanks

nalin doesn't even own a receiver...nevermind a coo*lsat..and she has no clue about the "loop" output...I will be interested in her reply about this...I know it will NOT help U or give U a straight answer..but U asked her, so I'm out..

Hey,juan
There is no need to disconnect your FTA receiver in order to connect your Dish receiver.
All you need is a A/B switch.
One receiver to A other to B.
Either way you choose is safe.

juan Cavazos : What LK is telling you is that, she read my post of the use of two switches and splitter, could not fault it, and having got the opportunity of masking it, she came out with two posts about a different subject, deliberately presumed that I would not know about it and tried to both belittle me and to mask my post.
Bravo LK, very well done. You have done it a thousand times and are past master at it.

LK: You are the one who specialises in robbing threads.
You had nearly a day to answer roy mercer. He even posted a second ?. all you had said was information even the FTA novices know.
Then juan Cavazos asked. You had your answer withing 20 minutes, saying I did not know about something as trivial as is available in almost all receivers. Before I even saw the question Kevin had replied and juan Cavazos was satisfied. There was no room nor any need for me to answer.
Note that the question from juan Cavazos was directed to me. But as usual, as soon as somebody tries to look to me for answers you have to butt in.
Now keep your butt out, when questions are directed to another individual.

It is quite clear from all this that the person who started this thread did not get a satisfactory answer from the great LK, the pretendor to the non-existent throne. So LK, you have turned out to be the ignorant person, not me.

all I can say is , U are talking in riddles and are a complete WACKO...

U were asked a question directly...and were here online at the time...and NEVER replied...instead U waited for kavin to answer cause u didn't know the answer...

U did exactly as I thought U would do...I never did answer, because the question was directed AT you, not me!....but U chose to NOT reply due to your lack of FTA knowledge..

Lk: You shine out as a double idiot in this thread. first becasue you could not and did not answer any of the two questions posted.
Second because you do not even understand that of all your posts is this thread, there is no answer and you still want to criticise the person who gave the correct answer.
Get lost, you stupid eccentric old girl.

Guys, just to let you know that the A/B Switch did work, channels were operating great depending on the A or B setting, but I took it off since a smell of burnt cable started to como out of it.

Could it have been because of the electricity that goes from the recievers to the LNB?
