Last year the Pat's were one dropped pass from going to the Bowl again(which they would have won easily). This year with 3 new receivers for Brady they will go all the way!

Although David, the Bills are my second favourite since they are my local team.. So I wish them well too. :-)

LK, what's all this news about the Patriots having a guy videotape signals from the Jets coaches during their game? lol Reminds me of the Giants stealing the pennant! I'm sure nothing will come of it though. The Pats don't need to cheat to win.

I never heard that lately...but I would presume that is a common practice in most all sports...and all teams..U know all teams and players will do anything to get an "edge"...Football is NOT a gentlemans game like golf...

it is NOT ALLOWED and is under review by the NFL. I hope this isnt true. Would be very disgraceful.

I don't call that cheating...no differnt than stealing signals from a basball catcher...and all of us who have played, stole many signals from catchers...and opposition coaches too!...thats part of the game!...screw those stupid NFL rules...

why do U think we have players covering their mouths when speaking...its not that they're afraid of being OVERHEARD!....these are multimillion dollar sport games, teams, and players ...NOT Little league and pop warner teams!...even when I coached in HS, we ALL took what we could and what the other team did not hide, to get an edge...sports are "competitive", and no personal injury is brought about by stealing signs!...like in life, U use whatever is available to you to get ahead...this is NOT chess or bowling....lol

Next hockey and the NHL will outlaw fighting...or use of "sticks"...

Profesional sports needs to stop the STUPID rules, and start paying attention to the fans and the actual game itself...

BTW...I'm not mentioning drugs, cause thats a different issue all together...

Ok i agree but LK teams use different signals for different plays and also same plays as well dont they, so what different does it really make?

lol, thats cheating dude! And if you think anyone is smart enough to steal signals with any degree of effectiveness (talking about pro sports) then they are a god. Like reggie said, one signal means one thing, same signal means something diff.
With these cameras, they can see the things the other team is trying to hide. SH1TTY

Dantetn i bet most teams in nfl do this. But as regards to yesterday's game it wouldnt of matter if they some how stole signals or not. And Junior Seau is still playin i was and still am a huge charger fan and in his prime that guy use to dominate as well as any lb ive ever seen, hes what like 40 years old seen him play a bit yesterday and hes still kickin some but.

I like Seau. He is one of the greats! (no dogfighting, drugs, bashing players) lol.
I dont think many teams at all do this. Like u said, it wouldnt make a big difference anyway, but u can loose draft picks. I dont think teams would chance that

That palmolou guy is awesome, everyone talks about roy williams being the best safety in the nfl id rather take polomolu(forgive me if im spelling his name wrong) because as long with the aggressive play and big hitting ability like roy williams he doesnt get beat for touchdowns every game on a consistant basis. Roy Williams cant cover.

You also got to remember, not that long ago, our warriors did battle with spears, clubs etc. where victories depended on who was the fiercest, had the most stamina and were the strongest. Not who could aim better or who had the bigger cannon!

This entire stealin signs thing is ridiculous....as well as the $500,000 fine towards Belicheck and the team $250,000 fine and the loss of the 2008 draft picks..

as I watched Terry Bradshaw last nite on Jay Leno...

Bradshaw even stated that ALL teams have been stealing signs for MANY many many years ...AND STILL do and always will!...and its not illegal to steal signs!...its ONLY a NEW RULE, THIS YEAR, that U cannot use a video device to steal the signs!...and Goodell wants to flex his authority on this...and everybodys jumping on the bandwagon cause its the Patriots, cause most people love to see the top get knocked down...human nature...

BTW...the players were/are not even aware of this attempt to steal signs..

Commissioner Roger Goodell announced severe penalties against the coach and the franchise in a letter to the Patriots last night.

Goodell slammed the coach with a $500,000 fine, the maximum allowed, and stripped the Patriots of either a first-round pick in 2008 if they make the playoffs this season or a second- and third-rounder if they don't. While saying he believed Patriots ownership was unaware of Belichick's actions, Goodell also fined the club $250,000.

"I accept full responsibility for the actions that led to tonight's ruling," Belichick said in a statement, reiterating his apology to the Patriots' owners and players for the "embarrassment, distraction and penalty my mistake caused."

Belichick said his interpretation of the rules was incorrect and added that the Patriots have "never used sideline video to obtain a competitive advantage while the game was in progress."

Goodell said he considered suspending Belichick but decided the heavy fine and draft-day penalty would serve as a "more significant and long-lasting" rebuke. The NFL will closely review and monitor the Patriots' coaching video program, effective immediately. The commissioner also determined that use of the video camera, which was seized before the end of the first quarter, had no impact on Sunday's game, a 38-14 Patriots win.

"We support the commissioner and his findings," the Jets said in a statement.

I think this is an old rule, just been emphasized more this and last year. Everyone has accused them of this for years, just no proof. Green Bay kicked a cameraman out last year or the year before for this same thing.
Everyone does try to steal signs, which is legal as long as you dont do it with a video camera.
If u watch the sideline and think u know what a certain sign means, then ok, but if u video it, teach it.... theres a problem. It must be a pretty big deal... all coaches i seen intrerviewed about it are p1ssed... except Gruden. On that level (prosports) u HAVE to follow the rules, weather u think they r ridiculous or not. There is no room for interpretation. Goes for players as well as coaches.
I have rules I have to live by, some I think r stupid, but I know if I break one of these stupid rules I will face the music. He knows what he did was wrong, or he woulda said otherwise. He wouldnt even talk about it at all!
