I tried my sv4000 at a friends house. Since I got home, I can't get the box to turn on... It goes on for a few seconds then the "boot" comes on the display then the "o" in boot stays on the screen, can't turn the box on or off... ??? Anyone know how to "RESET" the box without a menu???? THANKS in advance...

In case you change the default pin number (0000) on your sonicview receiver by accident or later on forget what the PIN number was, you need to use the sonicview MASTER PIN to reset the PIN on your receiver.

How to fully populate your EPG (electronic programming guide)

Make sure "Stand-by EPG" is turned on by going to Menu > System Setting > User Option > Stand-by-mode EPG and turn it "ON", if it is not already turned on.
Now exit out of menu and put the receiver is in stand-by by pushing the big red power key on your remote control.
Wait for 5 minutes and then turn the receiver back ON.
Now your EPG should be fully populated.
If you turn the receiver off using the back switch, you need to repeat the above

"why does Dish 119 info fill up, but Dish 110 doesn't"?

To get a 7-Day Guide on Dish 110 and 119, press the SAT button on your remote.
Highlight "Dish Package" and press "OK".
If you don't have both 110 and 119, then select the Dish Sat that you do have.
Exit out of the menu and Press the Guide button.
leave it sit on that channel for a few minutes.
The longer it sits, the more EPG will fill up, 7-Days max.

To get a 3-Day Guide on BEV, press the SAT button on your remote.
Highlight "BEV package"
If you don't have both 82 and 91, then select the BEV Sat that you do have.
Exit out of the menu and Press the Guide button.
leave it sit on that channel for a few minutes.
The longer it sits, the more EPG will fill up, 2-3 Days max.

The EPG can NOT fill up if you've selected "All SAT" from the SAT LIST button.
Also, it can not fill the BEV EPG while watching Dish and vice-versa...that is just NOT possible, because the EPG fills GUIDE data ONLY from the provider you are watching.

How To Rescan Satellites

Just a guide I prepared for some friends to rescan satellite.

Rescanning Instructions for Sonicview SV-1000

First off, you will have to delete the present scanned in channels before you scan in the new ones or you will get duplicates of some channels. You must write down your present settings so you can input them again later.

Click Menu
Make sure you are in Installation Menu. If not, right arrow until you are.
Down arrow to Dish Settings...click OK
Turn off the Lnb power to the other Satellite you have hooked up to get a clean scan without interference from the other lnb's.
Make sure the Sat you want to rescan is on the line that says Satellite. (Right arrow until the one you want is showing)
Dish 110 is Echo Star 6,8 ...110.0W
Dish 119 is Echo Star 7 ...119.0W
Dish 61.5 is Echo Star 3 ...61.5W
Dish 121 is Echo Star 9 ....121.0W
**** 91 is Nimiq 1,3 ...91.0W
**** 82 is Nimiq 2 ....82.0W

Write down the settings that are listed.

LNB Power
LNB Type
LNB Frequency
Transponder
22KHz
Search Option
Network Search
DiSEqC
Motor
Legacy Switch

You will need these settings later.

Make sure the sat you want to rescan is highlighted at the top.
Click OK
Another menu will pop up.
Make sure the sat you want to rescan is highlighted there as well. Down arrow until it is.
Press green button on remote.
When the Delete Satellite screen pops up, make sure "yes" is highlighted and click OK (Don't worry, you are just deleting the channels that were scanned in, not deleting the actual satellite from your receiver)
Click Exit
Input the settings you wrote down earlier by using the down arrow to get to the settings to be changed and right clicking until the settings show up correctly. (You DID write them down..right?)
After the settings are correct, then press the Red button on the remote and the channels and transponders will be scanned in. This will take a minute or two.
When complete, a window will pop up asking you "Do you want to save?" Click OK
Turn the LNB power back on for the other satellite you are aimed at.

Now that wasn't that hard was it?

Just repeat the same steps for any other satellite you want to rescan in. After you are used to doing this, it is not too hard at all.

It should not be necessary to do this very often. Only do this if you think the provider has changed transponders for some channels and you are missing channels you were getting before. Or if you think you are missing some of the games that should be in the Centre Ice Package. If those channels weren't "live" when you did your original scan, you may not have them all at game time. The best time to do this in that case, is on a Saturday night at about 8PM when most of the channels are "Live"

CREDIT'S FOR THIS GUIDE

There are many guides sitting in sonic view forum so I wanted to have one master guide that we may use on daily basis. This guide is not my work, it is from many knowledgeable users at FTA FOR ALL forums. I have merely combined them.
