Windows Vista and radio shack usb adapter

Does anyone have a laptop computer with Vista windows and got the adapter for com port from radio shack to load . I cannot get it to load . It says it loaded successfully but when i go into device manager it is not there any help would be welcome THANKS

My PC has Vista and I got a usb to 9 pin modem(DB9) at bestbuy. Brand name Dynex.

Thanks Rick but i have the adapter and the disk to load it i just can't get it to find the driver . It went into my windows XP real easy but Vista won't reconize the driver

You need to install a virtual com driver (VCP)and choos an available port. then open the loader and choose that port. xxx.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm
