This TV was purchased in 1994. This morning, when I turned the set on, there was a single, straight, horizontal line, about 3/8" wide across a black screen. I smelled the acrid odor of burning semiconductors at this time. TV powers up normally, sound is OK, and line changes colors, etc. in response to broadcast. PIP activation, changing input to "line in", and using "menu" function all cause line to change colors (blue), and pattern.
There was a violent electrical storm last night, while the TV was turned OFF.
Can I get a schematic/manual for this TV?
Any suggestions as to a repair?
Are parts still available?
Thanks in advance.

You've probably got a bad power supply, it doesn't have enough output to fill the screen. There are PS repair kits available for some TVs. You'd have to check for your model.
