Hi I currently have a pansat 2700a. I was hoping to have it hooked up to my computer where I could use my computer and hard drive to record shows. I am not interested in purchasing pansats dvr. If anyone knows how or has successfully set somthing up let me know.
thanks

You need to purchase a special video card to be able to connect your 2700 to the computer. After spending $$ on the card and installing and configuring the software (can be a bit tricky for a newbie), you're probably better off just spending $$ on a DVR receiver.

An ATI All-in-Wonder video cards works great, but you will also need dvd authoring software. It is a bit tricky, but if you are up to it it does work great, with less issues and more flexiblility than a PVR.
