Nothing is broadcast in 1080p yet, but it is coming. I have both the 720p and the 1080p and the picture on the set with 1080p is far superior to the 720p.I really didn't think there would be much of a difference, but there really is.

Hi Richi, Just to comment on your post about the differences between 720P and 1080P. The TV's that have dropped in price (720P) can display 1080i and to the naked eye nothing broadcast quality can be seen as different between the two. I have HDTV with digital cable and watch 1080I all the time. When you watch this program on a 1080P TV it looks the same. I have also read on other review sites that even watching an HD DVD between the two modes cannot be distinguishable.

Now remember because 1080P TV's are a newer breed it is possible that they have superior picture quality for lower resultion just because they've improved that as well.

In my opinion the decisive factor is your budget.
