I have a plasma tv with a tuner card and recently discovered that there are around 50 channels of various commercial free music. I believe these are digital channels. I was wondering how I could take advantage of this music and route it to my home audio system which is in a different area of the house and there is a cable jack nearby. Do I have to buy a whole new TV for the sake of switching these channels?

Daniel, you have three choices:

1) Buy another QAM tuner equipped TV.

2) Rent a digital cable box (HD not necessary) and use its digital audio output if your music system has a digital audio input. Otherwise you can use the R/L analog output from the cable box to feed into your audio system.

3) Buy a separate QAM equipped tuner, run your cable into it and use its audio outputs into your music system.
