I have a Sony 51 inch wide screen rear projection TV. It's just over 5 years old. A few weeks ago I noticed the screen started turning all red. This happened a few times and only lasted a few seconds. Last week it did the same thing only this time the TV turned off completed. It s been ok for the past few days. I also notice red horizontal lines that are arched a bit and run all the way down the screen. This can only be detected when the screen is dark. I also notice wide vertical bars on both sides of the screen that are slightly yellow in colour. They are only noticeable when the back ground is white such as when I'm watching hockey. What the heck is going on here? I went out a bought a new TV the other day to replace it since I was told the CRT is going and it would cost more to replace all 3 than to buy a new TV. I bought the Hitachi 50 in LCD RP TV.
