I have a new Samsung 32' pip LCD TV, which has only one built in tuner. Is it possible to split a cable signal in order to recieve HDTV in the main picture and basic cable in the small picture without an additional tuner/VCR etc? Any help would be appreciated.

You can just simply buy a second TV set

Just kidding

- Yes you could few ways to do it
- But why make it difficult if you got cable service ask them to upgrade your box to HD reciver, usually will upgrade it free of charge, or get a second box with HD usually about $5 per month. Newer cable boxes come with built in splitter allowing easy PIP

I'm sorry, my question wasn't very clear. I have a HD box and have split my cable, but get a blank screen on my small picture when operating PiP. Is this because I only have a one tuner TV and no VCR? Basically, I can't get my PiP to work.

What I meant there is a PIP on many HD receivers
On mine last 2 buttons on Cable remote instead of PIP on TV tuner.

But to answer your question you need 2 tuners
Or 1-tuner + 1- A/V input to get PIP
