Dgl990d linear ?

quick question. i am having problem getting 121 echo with 32"dish and dgl990d ( suppose to be linear )
lnb.
i want to know if this dgl990d lnb is linear .otherwisw i will return it back.
sat and kevin here on this forum try to help me out and i really appreciate their help. ( so far no luck ) many thanks guys.....

What other info :is on the lnb?I need that to tell if it's linear or not.Where did u get it from?

You could try setting it as a dss rather than fss and aim at 119w,which is only 3degrees off and since it's a 32"dish you should have no trouble NAILING that sat.It will help you know what lnb you have.

If U get the 119 CLEARLY with a STRONG signal, then U have a CIRCULAR LNB..

OK everyone, put your polarizing sunglasses on.

What's the difference?... circular and linear
Answer: About -3dB or half the signal level.

Now take your sunglasses off. Notice how bright it is in here? The difference in brightness is an example of using the wrong lnb type.

Circular and Linear polarization refer to the characteristics of the radio wave that is transmitted by the satellite towards your dish/LNB. Below are links to visual comparisons of Circular (Left or Right-hand) and Linear (Vertical or Horizontal) polarization.
