i have an 26" iLo HDTV and a Scientific Atlanta 8300HD box from Comcast. i'm using component out of the box to the TV. all connections are correct. i have the output of the box set to 780p (max for the TV) and the TV type set to 16:9 (using the HD setup wizard on the box). HDTV signals (i checked a couple of channels) don't fill the screen. it's a 16:9 image, it's just tiny and in the center of the screen. i'm a noob, so i'll bet it's something reaaaallly stupid. thanks for yr help.

I would suspect thats the way the channels are being broadcast to you. ESPN broadcasts some of its programming in 4:3. Check your tv manual for how to zoom the picture so it fills the screen.

I notice that happen when I am connected to my TV through the Composite Video (1 Yellow connection) rather than Component Video (Red, Green, Blue connections)
