Is there a Panasonic RP-82 equivalent for the same price?

I want a Panasonic RP-82. Only place I can find one is e-bay, but the price is double MSRP. Does anyone have any idea if there is a new model coming from Panasonic to replace it, or is there a unit out there just as good for around $250. Thanks in advance.

Check out the Panasonic XP 30. The only thing it doesn't have is DVD-A capability, but it will play just as nicely

I have seen some Code Free RP-82's online for anywhere from $300-$350. These are able to play not only Zone 1 DVD's for the USA, but DVD's for Asia and Europe too. Just do a google search.

Actaully the exact equivalent would be the Denon DVD-1600 which goes around 400 dollars.

Philips Q50 is similar to Panasonic RP-82,because it has the Faroudja Chip in progressive mode. The picture is rich in colors and details. The sound is excellent. The MPEG circuitry is the same of Panasonic RP-82.
