I have been using sd card to update the bins. I have a null modem cable that came with my 3500 sd box. I never used null modem cable because my computer and my laptop doesn't have 9-pins. So I want to know where I can get a cable that I can use it on my laptop which has usb on one side 9pin on other side for the receiver.

Thanks.

radio shack...just get a USB adapter to that DB 9 pin end...and install the drivers with it into your computer..and use the cable throughout the ENTIRE loading of b80 boot file AND new 302 bin, when loading...DO NOT USE THE SD card at all!...read my revised loading instructions in 3500 thread here...

You will need (USB-serial) and (null modem or straight cable). The USB adapter will have a male connector, just like the receiver. So you still need the null or straight cable (depending on your recr model)
