I cant seem to get sat IA5 , I know Im on it location wise but no signal on meter, ku amc 4 seems to bleed tward that direction signal wise, and seems to be the strongest as far as 187 deg.Azmuth to 170 deg.Azmuth making it hard to pull out IA5 from the bleed signal even with antenuation.
(in my location it should be at 178.670 azmuth and 54deg elev)
Do I need an amp or better lnb? , larger dish to pull it out...?

my system in this senario is:
I have traxis 4500, gemstar 76cm dish, 25ft cable run (3Gig tested), lnb is a cheap 15.00 brand .5, and meter used is accutrac 22

anyone can help, please do.

John I will help you
Traxis sounds like FTA
You are at the correct forum
These guys hi-jacked this forum with their STA
54 degrees sounds like above Washington State is this right?
CAN YOU GIVE ME YOUR TOWN, STATE
- 75CM or 30 inch sounds correct
- AMC sounds like you are not that far from 97
- your LNB 3GHz may not pickup 97 transponders
- The LNB I recommend
Linear 0.3 db for LNBF
RF= 11.7-12.2 GHz
IF= 950 - 1450 MHz
LO= 10.75 GHz
NF= 0.3db
I'm only guessing your LNB may not be correct one
Because that is what AMC4 uses 3GHz
You can get that from www-wsidigital-com 770.420.5270

Thanks for help, BUT im in Georgetown Texas
lat 30 37 55 N
lon 97 40 39 W

and as far as lnb its a ku .5 , the 3 ghz i refered to was wire test quality to 3 ghz.

I have a invacom qph031 new in box I guess I should break out, I get what i get good with the one lnb im using but dang if I can get any blip of a signal at ia5 location , if its there its weak for my equipment to pull out.
other strong sats are where there supposed to be , usually can point dish one time by meter go inside and Ive usually hit the site, go back fine tune and finished.

Your 3 GHz won't pick those transponers
All you need is one LNB $20.00 that picks the following transponders:
From www-lyngsat-com
TP 11936 to 12177
which means 11.936 GHz 12.177 GHz

So you need an RF 11.7 to 12.2 GHz
Just call WSDIGITAL and order 1-Linear LNB
www-wsidigital-com 770.420.5270

You got the right LNB
Then in you Antenna set-up at 97°W do Blind Scan
Followed by Chan Scan

Actually 3000 model has it
But if you select the SAT or 97 on the Traxis the Transponders are preset so you don't need Blind scan so just scan channels on 97.
- If you are getting other channels instead of 97 that means your dish is pointed slightly off
- But just make sure you do chan scan 97

I have channels in just cant pull signal out and I know im in the area of the sat within sensing distance, my sat meter cant distinguish its signal from other bleed signals, if I try to catch it with receiver, receiver never picks up sig on any transponders at that location. even with 1 or 2 deg adjustments
I dont know, whats going on but Ill eventually figure it out, desided to go to g10r for now. when I get my new viewsat extreme in Ill play the IA5 direction again.

thanks
JL

I know what the problem is
- I think you are off by about 15 degrees, 1 or 2 degrees it is nothing, I would try 5 degeees towards east at a time, elevation at 50 degrees,
- If you get chanels with no Audio & Video it means they are encrypted. Which means you are at the wrong SAT for 97
- Comapas would be helpfull, but I always find my signal with % for example if I get 80% at 110 and 60% at 97 I know that I'm a lot closer to 110 than 97 SO I MOVE DISH TOWARDS EAST
- If this sounds complicated give me % signal on each SAT and I tell you how much you are off by

- Simply if you get bleeds like you are describing IT MEANS YOU ARE OFF
