Have Hitachi Projection TV with built-in Digital Tuner - no need for Cable Box - Just connect our Basic Cable coax from wall to TV and get ON DEMAND movies, etc - Purchased the Panasonic DVD/VHS recorder combo Model DMR-ES35V - We elected not to run coax thru our previous DVD player because we do not get the 'extra' channels - so - went from wall - to TV - then to DVD - We want the capability to record the ON Demand channels - to the new DVD recorder - so should we keep our setup the same as with just the old DVD Player? We have tested the 'playing of DVD's and the VHS tapes and that works fine
with same configuration - is there any difference because we now have a 'recorder'? and I guess my basic question is We should be able to record anything that is 'seen' through the TV, right?
(using 'S' video and RCA audio into the DVD)
Users Manual is awkward reading - as always ! They seem to feel the 'usual' hook-up is from cable box - to - dvd - then to TV and we don't have a cable box.
Thanks for any input
