I have a new Sony HD LCD projection TV hooked up to Cox HD cable box ( DCT6200) with video component cables, a Pansonic DVD recorder DMR-ES45V hooked to Cable box with HDMI connection and a Sony receiver hooked to the DVD recorder with optical cable for the surround sound. Everything is working except I cannot record on the DVD recordwe and watch another channel on the TV. I purchased a splitter, but I am not sure where to do the split. I do realize I cannot tape the HD channels. The Sony and Panasonic web sites have diagrams but they don't address my situation. Any help would be appreciated.

This is how I have my Panny DVDR and Sony LCD HD projection TV connected and I'm able to watch HDTV and record analog at the same time.

Coax wall out to Panny DVDR cable in
Panny DVDR cable out to DCT6200 cable in

DCT6200 Svideo and RCA audio out to Panny DVDR in
Panny DVDR component out to HDTV in

DCT6200 DVI out and audio cables to Sony HDTV HDMI in (my cable box has DVI vice HDMI so I needed to get a DVI to HDMI adapter).

Hope this helps
